Using Outloud means agreeing to these terms. We've kept them short and readable. Last updated June 12, 2026.
Outloud is a personal voice-journaling app for iPhone. You may use it for your own lawful, personal purposes. You’re responsible for the content you record and for complying with any laws that apply to you — for example, recording other people only where you’re permitted to.
You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to use Outloud.
You keep all rights to everything you record and create in Outloud. We claim no ownership of your notes, audio, or transcripts. We only process your content to provide the features you ask for, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Because your data lives primarily on your device, keeping your own backups (or enabling iCloud sync) is up to you. Export is always available.
Recording and on-device transcription are free, with no minute caps, and we intend to keep them that way. The free tier also includes auto-titled notes, a 7-day history of AI-structured notes, and a limited number of “Ask” queries per month.
Premium unlocks unlimited AI structuring and history, unlimited Ask, weekly Reflections, Threads, custom Modes, task export, and multi-language support. Premium is offered as a yearly or monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; you can manage or cancel anytime in your Apple account settings. We’ll remind you three days before an annual renewal.
Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. A lifetime purchase covers the features available to it for the lifetime of the app.
Please don’t misuse Outloud: no using it to break the law, infringe others’ rights, reverse-engineer or disrupt the service, or attempt to access data that isn’t yours. We may suspend access that threatens the security or integrity of the app or other people.
Outloud’s structuring, summaries, and answers are generated by AI and can be imperfect. We show your original transcript and audio alongside structured notes, and mark uncertain words rather than inventing them — but you should treat AI output as a helpful draft, not a verified record. Don’t rely on it for decisions where errors would be harmful.
Outloud is provided “as is.” While we work hard to keep it stable and to never lose your data, we can’t guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the prior 12 months.
Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your country.
We may update these terms as the app evolves. For material changes we’ll notify you in the app and update the date above. Continuing to use Outloud after a change means you accept the updated terms.
